The Policy Advocacy Committee, composed of banking and finance experts, identifies critical issues for discussion, formulates policy positions and disseminates its results to national and international governments and organizations to contribute to policy making and regulatory implementation.

The Committee has done considerable work in several areas such as

• Local currency bond market development;
• The development of domestic credit rating agencies;
• The Basel II and Basel III Framework;
• Promoting regional convergence toward IFRS;
• Insolvency law and informal workouts;
• Corporate governance;
• Credit reporting systems; and
• Disaster preparedness.
