During the ABA Short-Term Visiting Program hosted by Hatton National Bank on May 29-30, 2024 in Colombo, Secretariat officers had the opportunity to meet with Mr. Jonathan Alles, the outgoing CEO of HNB. Mr. Alles was informed by the Secretariat officers that, as former Chairman of ABA, his presence in the meetings of the ABA Advisory Council as well as in the ABA Board is still important.
Mr. Alles promised to attend these meetings in the future, and also committed to encourage other banks in Sri Lanka, including the one he is expected to join as CEO in August 2024, to consider membership in the ABA.
