The Asian Bankers Association (ABA) and the Association of Credit Rating Agencies in Asia (ACRAA) wish to invite you to join the one-hour webinar on “Opportunities for green cooperation in the banking sector and financial markets for a greener and better new normal post-pandemic” to be held on 24 March 2021 at 02:00 PM, Taipei time.
The webinar will feature three experts who will discuss Sustainable Finance development amid COVID 19 and the importance of linking social cohesion with green and environmental considerations. The presentations will be followed by a Q&A session.
The invited experts will share their thoughts and observations on how various sustainable finance stakeholders – including market participants, policymakers, regulators, and financial institutions – are coping with the pandemic, and elaborate on their views on the prospects of sustainable finance post-pandemic.
The speakers and their respective topics include the following:
(1) Mr. Sakda Pongcharoenyong, President, TRIS Rating Co., Ltd, will make a presentation focusing on the efforts by the Thai government, regulators, and financial market participants to accelerate sustainable finance in Thailand.
(2) Ms. Stella Chang, Head of International Business, Golden Credit Rating International Co., Ltd (Golden Credit) will speak on issues such as China’s commitment to climate change and how China is making efforts to encourage green bond issuers, including the 14th 5-year-plan for green economy.
(3) Ms. Atsuko Kajiwara, Head of Sustainable Finance Evaluation Dept., Japan Credit Rating Agency, Ltd, will talk about transition finance and its importance in realizing a carbon-neutral society, as global sustainable finance markets are focusing on how to move heavy CO2 emission industries to adopt cleaner solutions. She will also cover the Green Deal Strategy announced by EU and Japan.

ACRAA was organized on 14 September 2001 at the Asian Development Bank headquarters, by 15 Asian credit rating agencies from 10 countries. As of September 2020, membership has increased to 27 members from 14 countries. An initiative of the ABA, ACRAA unites domestic credit rating agencies in a regional cooperative effort to develop and promote interaction and exchange of ideas, information, and skills among credit rating agencies in Asia to enhance their capabilities and their role of providing reliable market information. ACRAA also aims at promoting the adoption of best practices and common standards that ensure high quality and comparability of credit ratings throughout the region, following the highest norms of ethics and professional conduct.
