The Asian Bankers Association (ABA) is inviting members and friends to join the Financial Times’ inaugural “Crypto & Digital Assets Summit Asia on Transforming Mainstream Finance” to be held on 5th December 2024 in Singapore.
INTRODUCTION
With The Banker and ABA as Supporting Organization, the Summit will convene leaders from global and Asian financial institutions, crypto and digital assets leaders and regulators to ascertain the path to institutional adoption, asset tokenisation and regulatory implementation.
Digital assets are re-emerging as a transformative solution for mainstream finance, with bitcoin ETFs and a resurgent crypto market driving new optimism in the sector. Asia’s financial centres are becoming major hubs for these assets, backed by regulatory support and cutting-edge financial innovation.
An increasing number of financial institutions are exploring blockchain solutions to expand their services, navigating through an intensifying regulatory landscape. While customer safeguarding and security concerns remain, recent market failures have helped the industry distinguish between credible solutions and scams. This renewed market confidence is attracting a new calibre of discerning stakeholders engaging with digital assets as the ecosystem seeks to cleanse itself of past vulnerabilities.
AGENDA
The one-day event will hold sessions on the following six key issues affecting the crypto market:
(1) Regional regulations
(2) Next Crypto Hub
(3) Cybercrime & Protection
(4) Tokenization & Institutional Adoption
(5) Investor’s perspective
(6) Security & Liquidity
There will be 27 speakers of which five represent mainstream banking (DBS, HSBC, Bank of Korea, Monetary Authority of Singapore, Deutsche Bank), five more represent investment funds, while the rest represent technology/blockchain providers and crypto research companies.
COST
The registration for the one-day gathering is US$999 for in-person participants and US$369 for online participants. ABA members get 20% discount.
