Dear ABA members,
I wish to convey my sincerest gratitude to you and your Bank for your support of my nomination as ABA Chairman for 2018-2000. I am indeed honored with the trust you have bestowed upon me and Hatton National Bank. It is a privilege to be heading the Association and I look forward to working closely with you and your Bank in promoting the interest of our Association and the banking industry of the region as a whole.
I am confident that, with your continued support and cooperation, we will be able to accomplish a lot over the next two years. Please share with me your views on how the ABA as a regional organization can best serve its members. It is my hope that during my term, the ABA will continue to play a pivotal role in the further growth and development of bankers and the banking sector in the region.
As ABA Chairman, I would be looking to you for suggestions and assistance in initiating and effectively implementing activities in the following areas, among others:
- Membership Expansion
- Policy Advocacy
- Strengthening ABA’s Involvement in Regional Cooperation Efforts
- Strengthening of Relationship with Other Regional & International Organizations
- Information Exchange Program
- Professional Development Program
- Annual Council Meetings and Conferences
Over the next two years, I hope to rely on you in our efforts to make the ABA an effective forum for advancing the cause of the banking industry and for promoting regional cooperation among our members, I believe we are in a position to do just that, given the vast and rich resources and expertise our membership can provide.
With your unwavering support and those of other ABA Board Directors – including our Immediate Past Chairman Mr. Daniel Wu and members of the ABA Advisory Council – as well as of the other ABA members, we can look forward to more years of fostering greater cooperation and understanding among bankers in the region.
